No Eyes Left [The Miner] Changes forever! :D (Even the name)


Hello everyone! :3

Today’s post is a bit of a hybrid between a general update and a technical devlog — because the game is changing completely. Let’s dive into the details! 💻✨

What’s New (Already Implemented)

This update introduces a full rework of core systems and gameplay flow:

  • 🎮 First-Person Perspective:
    I’ve fully transitioned the game into a first-person view, aiming for better immersion and a stronger horror atmosphere.

  • 📋 Task-Based Survival System:
    Instead of wandering aimlessly, you’ll now have tasks to complete while trying to survive.

  • 🧱 Hiding System (Lockers):
    Lockers are now interactive objects: when the entity approaches, you must hide.
    One hit = instant death, so stay alert!

  • 🗺️ New Locations and Editor Progress:
    I’ve started creating and implementing new areas designed around the new gameplay — expect tight corridors, dead ends, and chokepoints.

🔧 What’s Being Developed (Next Phase)

Currently working on polishing and expanding the systems:

  • 🛠️ Animation Improvements:
    New animations for hiding, task interactions, and movement transitions.

  • 🎛️ Advanced Audio Design:
    Implementing positional audio so you can hear the enemy approaching — not just see it.

  • 🔧 Interaction System Refinements:
    Improving the way you interact with objects under time pressure.

  • 📈 Dynamic Difficulty:
    Adjusting monster behavior and aggression based on how many tasks you’ve completed.

🌟 Planned Future Updates

Several major systems are planned for upcoming versions:

  • 💾 Basic Inventory System:
    Letting you collect and use survival items during missions.

  • 🤖 Enhanced AI Behaviors:
    Smarter enemies that react to sounds, movement, and hiding spots.

  • 🎲 Procedural Content:
    Early experiments with randomized task locations and dynamic spawn points to boost replay value.

  • 📖 Narrative Layer:
    Adding a storyline revealed through exploration and task completion.
